2/18 CHOP Appointments

As many of you know we had a long day full of appointments yesterday at CHOP.  We had to be there at 7:30am and we left around 1:30 and were able to go to South Street afterwards and enjoy lunch and walk around since it was so beautiful out!!  What we found out is that the baby's heart has stayed the same since our last appointment.  They are still thinking babe will need to have it's open heart surgery as soon as it is born.  They also noted that the baby's liver is slightly enlarged and there is a cyst on one of the baby's kidneys.  With all that said they are 99% sure this baby has Alagilles Syndrome.  They will keep an eye on the liver and kidney to be sure nothing changes.  At this point there is really not much concern about either, but it does need to be monitored.  I had my transfer of care to CHOP.  They are a bit concerned about my post partum hemmoraging that occured after Owen was born so they want my coagulations checked along with my liver function to be sure there isn't anything funky there.  They just want to be sure they have blood products and such at the delivery of this babe incase I would have the same problem again.  The OB said that typically if you have post partum hemmoraging with one child you usually have it with consecutive children.  ENCOURAGING!!  NOT!!!  I told them I want them to avoid inducing me if possible.  They said they will let me hold out until I am 40 weeks then after that out comes the baby.  So this babe will be here in 103 days or less.

Thanks for your continued prayers for this babe, Ian and myself!

Anniversary at the Franklin Institute...

Ian with his buddy, Ben.

Babies first airplane ride.

Ashley listening to the tour guide about the locomotive. She was much more interested than she looks.

This was made a few blocks away. So they just built tracks into the building and drove it right in.

3D/4D

Ian and I will be celebrating 5 years of marriage on Friday, February 11th!!! For our anniversary he surprised me and took me for a 3D/4D ultrasound. It was so neat!! If you are pregnant I totally recommend this. It is pretty pricey, but I feel like it was worth every penny. They gave a bunch of black/white printed pictures and a c.d. with all of the pictures on it and then they will be mailing us a DVD of the babe plus a color photo collage! I can't wait to get the DVD!

I am so in love with this babe!  It was amazing to peek inside at our little one!  The baby yawned like 5 times.  I guess this little one takes after it's momma already!  He/she opened it's eyes for us, was playing with the umbilical cord and just looked so cozy!  I know I have said it before, but this babe is sooo active!! It is constantly moving and I am even starting to be able to feel movement when I am up and moving around which a new thing.  I also, was at the midwife yesterday and I gained wayyyyy too much weight in one month!  Oh well, I keep saying as long as this baby gets big and fat I don't care how much weight I gain!  Everything else checked out perfect!!  I can't believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by!  Only 114 more days or sooner and the babe will be here!  I am sure CHOP will want this baby out as soon as it is considered full term.

Thanks to all the moms that commented on my last post.  Now, I know what I need to stock up on!

By way of update on Ian - he still isn't back to work.  We are hopeful that work will come in soon or that he will get some side jobs.  Although, like I have said before I am loving having him home with me!

Spring/Summer Babe

I need your help!!!  Did you have a baby in the summer?!  If so what did you wear on your little one?  I am just wondering what I should stock up on?  I'm not really a onesie mom...  I like to wear outfits on my little one..  Owen was a fall/winter baby so that was a no brainer as to what to wear on him.  Some have said that they wear long sleeves on their summer babies, which would make sense if you are indoors in the air conditioning.  I don't know!  I would love to know what you wore on your little one!
