Memorial Service

I know in the last post we wrote a tentative time for Owens memorial service.  It is exactly what we thought it would be.  It is tommorrow morning June, 1st.  There will be a greeting period from 9:30-10:30am and the service will begin at 10:30am at Branch Creek Community Church on 100 Main St. Harleysville, PA 19438 .  I know so many have said how awkward it is and many feel like they don't have anything to say to us.  It is just as awkward for us.  It is okay to not say anything and just come out and show your support.  God has given Ian and I amazing peace.  We feel all of the prayers you are lifting up on our behalf.  As we have said many times we are so thankful that the Lord healed our sweet baby Owen.

  1. Thank you for letting us know. Since we aren't at Grace anymore we weren't sure what was going on. We are thankful we were able to find a babysitter so we can be there.

Thank you also for posting how you are processing this and being open about it. It helps us know how to pray and does make it less "awekward" for people I think.

I was sharing your's and Owen's story just yesterday with our church group and they were all very encouraged by your story and your testimony of trust in the Lord through your trial. Owen will continue to impact people's lives even in his death. I only wish I could have met him here on earth.

  3. You've so been in our hearts, Ashley! I've written to your mom, but thought I'd write you a note. Do you remember us from Grace Bible Church in Hollister? Our boys, Robbie and Randy also homeschooled, and we were involved with the homeschooling bowling we did with you all each week.

You have been so heavy on our hearts as we read all that you and your husband were going through with your precious baby son. We cried with you, ached with you, prayed with you!! And we will continue to do so.

We will especially be praying for you tomorrow, as we know it will be a difficult day for you all. Even though we know Owen is in the arms of our loving Lord, we know you will be grieving him and missing him.

We love you and will be praying for you!
    Your sister in Christ!

  4. Dear Ashley and Ian,

I'm not sure if we ever met, but I am a long time friend of the Logans. I found out about your blog some time ago and have periodically been following along. It's true, there are no words. My heart is breaking for you. I cried reading your last post. Though we've probably never met, you are family in Christ to me and I will pray that you will experience peace in a time when there are no answers.
